Edward Billington & Son Ltd is a private family business, based in Liverpool since 1858. Originally sugar merchants, the business has diversified into food manufacturing, animal feed manufacturing and commodity trading. It currently employs over 800 people, and has a turnover in excess of £200m. The MD of Billington Biofuels, Edward Billington, is the great-great-grandson of the company's founder. Carrs-Billington Agriculture Ltd (CBAL) - one of the UK's largest suppliers to the farming community. CBAL has four animal feed mills supplying half a million tonnes of specialised animal feeds. It has 19 retail outlets, servicing all the requirements for farmers from Wellington Boots to Massey-Ferguson tractors. It is also a significant distributor of heating oil.
Criddle & Co is a prominent trader and supplier of agricultural commodities. Based in Liverpool since 1902, they source a wide range of grain, cereals, proteins and commodities. These are traded on various exchanges internationally, and supplied to a number of agricultural consumers.
English Provender Company (EPC) is a primary supplier to the major supermarkets of high quality chutneys, condiments and salad dressings. It also is the largest manufacturer of mayonnaise for the sandwich industry. 4 out of 5 sandwiches sold in supermarkets in the UK will contain EPC products.
Wholesome Sweeteners Inc is the leading brand of organic and fair-trade sugars and sweeteners in the USA. Established in 2000, this dynamic business currently has sales in excess of $100m.
