Sustainability
All our pellets come from UK manufacturers, made from virgin timber by-products from the sawmilling industry. This timber is coniferous (soft wood), usually FSC certified, and normally harvested within 30 miles of production.
During the production process the wood chip is dried using the off-cuts such as bark and branches in a wet burner. This ensures that the majority of the energy used in the creation of wood pellets comes from renewable sources.
To reduce the environmental impact of distribution, wood pellets are collected from our current suppliers in bulk utilising empty back-hauls whenever possible (vehicles that would otherwise have been running empty). In addition, our transport fleet uses a biodiesel blended fuel to reduce emissions, and we always try to group deliveries together for maximum efficiency.
